Alan E. Hicks has worked as a professional opera singer, award-winning stage director, and teacher of singing. He is a former faculty member of the Actors Studio Drama School and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Hicks' students have performed in major opera companies, on and off Broadway, on all major television networks, and in major motion pictures.

I wish I would have had this book as an undergraduate student. It's too often that young singers are told to act and they have no idea what that actually means. Usually it is blamed on the student not being comfortable but it is more likely that the singer just doesn't know what to do. This book is great at helping the singer to know what to do. This book is a must for any singer but especially young singers.
